10 Vegan + Vegan Friendly Spots To Try in Portland, Oregon in 2025

It’s a new year, which means it’s time to try something new. Like new restaurants. Here are some of my favorites that you should have on your list of places to try in the new year.

All Vegan

Our Spot

From the same owners of Vtopian plant-based cheese, The Realm Refillery, and Unwind. Our Spot is a low-waste coffee shop located near the marina in SE Portland. This coffee spot uses no single-use cups. Instead, if you do want to take your coffee to go, they’ll give you a glass jar (comes with a lid) that you pay a deposit on or you can bring your own vessel. You can enjoy plant-based pastries from Portland’s Poppyshop and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Mirisata

This all vegan Sri Lankan restaurant is a must try for any food lover. Sri Lankan food itself is already 90% vegan when it comes to their cuisine, but this spot ensures that everything is plant-based. Enjoy their massive curry plate, which I highly recommend. Though I suggest you try their brunch. They have both an American style and a Sri Lankan brunch.

Obon Shokudo

Obon Shokudo is a Japanese plant-based comfort food restaurant where everything is made from scratch even their noodles! While my favorite is their tempura udon noodle, their onigiri is what sets them apart. In Japan, onigiri is typically made with white rice and the filling is in the center of the onigiri. At Obon, they used sprouted brown rice and mix the flavorings with the rice so that every bite has a burst of flavor. They also focus on seasonality, so be sure to come by every once in a while to try some of their specials.

This vegan/vegetarian food truck at the Rose City Food Cart Pod is a one woman show. Owner, Nikia makes the best comfort food such as lasagna, pulled pork sandwiches (with jackfruit), tamales, peach cobbler, gumbo, and so much more. Expect a longer wait time because it is just Nikia and it’s all made from scratch, but the wait is worth it!

A Portland staple! Rudy’s has an extensive vegan menu for not just their pizzas but also, their wings made with house made sauces. Last year, they added free arcade games and a bar where you can also get delicious alcohol free cocktails as well as regular cocktails.

For a good smash burger, look no further than Monster Smash. Just outside the Belmont Station in NE Portland. They have a vegan option made with 2 Beyond patties, vegan American cheese, Monster sauce and house made pickles on a vegan bun. One of the most satisfying burgers I’ve had in Portland.
